Samsung Hockey Champions Trophy
10-18 July 2010, Highfields Sports Club, Nottingham
- Nottingham is to host the 18th edition of the world women’s hockey tournament with the Samsung Hockey Champions Trophy taking place in July 2010. The Men’s Four Nations Tournament takes place at the same time. Following the Women’s Champions Trophy in July 2009, four of the five nations who will take part in the 2010 tournament alongside England are now confirmed. Holders Argentina, China, Germany and Olympic champions the Netherlands will all be taking part in the event at Highfields Sports Club in Nottingham

For the first time since the European Grand Prix in 1993, Formula One will be held at Donington Park. Donington will host the British F1 Grand Prix for a decade from July 2010.

Trent Bridge Cricket Ground tours
- every Tuesday (unless a match is in progress) it takes groups around the historic old ground. The tours start at 2.00pm from the Cricket Shop (at the rear of the Trent Bridge Inn) and last for around 90 minutes including the Long Room, Pavilion and the Library, where archivist Peter Wynne-Thomas will be able to answer any of your questions about Notts and Trent Bridge. At present the price is £2 for adults, £1 for juniors. By prior arrangement it also cateres for groups of people who wish to be taken around the ground at other times. More info...
